Using MSA2012fc with DL360 G6 Storage Server (cannot detect lun?)

Hey,

We have a MSA2000 setup, vdisk, create a single volume from it, and mapped it to one of the FC port on one of the controller. It is initialising right now still.

I have already connected using a Fibre cable to connect from port 0 of MSA2012fc to the FC port of DL360.

However, the link is always showing 'down' and I'm not able to view the LUN from DL360 G6 storage server, which is a Windows Server 2003 R2.

Please advise if I miss out anything?

Hi,

what mode is port 0 on the MSA set to?

Try changing to the other one (i don't remember the exact name but it should be something like direct-connect or loop).

Which type of HBA do you have?

emulex have HBAnywhere
qlogic have SANsurfer

These are free tools to diagnose the HBA on the server side.

After the MSA can see the HBA, you can give that HBA (or the WWN) access to the LUN.
