I would suggest that you bookmark the HP-UX Porting site and make it the first stop when you are looking for pre-compiled open software:

http://hpux.connect.org.uk/

There are a number of world-wiode mirrors that you can select. I actually find that even in the USA, the UK site is the most reliablably available.
