Command view EVA interface problem

Hi - I have inherited an EVA 5000 and a windows 2000 SMA III and cannot access the Commannd View EVA web interface. All system interfaces work fine just command view eva and business copy return DNS Error page cannot be displayed.

Looking at the Event Logs I get these three events when trying to access these pages.

Can anyone advise?

Re: Command view EVA interface problem

This is a security issue from the previous admin, there are a few ways around this!

The best solution is to rebuild the SMA as an SMS, this is a regular windows server build with the MS and HP hot fixes and supportpacks.

Then depending on the VCS firmware on your EVA5k, install the version of CVEVA that is current - ie VCS 3028 and above is supported by CVEVA 6.01 (current) previous versions of VCS will have to be verified.

Then your security can be managed with the system password / account.

Vefify that "HP Storage Admins" has been added to the administrator account.

You will then have a system that can be updated without the restrictions associated with previous SMA's

Re: Command view EVA interface problem

Thanks for the update, would you have any suporting build documentation for building the SMA with a standard WIndows 2003 OS and relevant applications, service packs and hotfixes?

Re: Command view EVA interface problem

I have rebuilt the SMA with WIndows 2003 Server and attepted to install EVA 6.0.1 but it fails as I need 6.0 first. Can you tell me where I can get this from?
