How to failover controller manually

Hi there,

This may be a silly question.  How do you similate a controller failover on an iSCSI MSA 2052?  Do I need to pull out a c ontroller card manually while switched on?

I'm used to Nimble which has a button for this.

Thanks

Re: How to failover controller manually

MSA 2052 doesnt have an option to do a manual failover with both controllers up.

You could shut down one of the controllers so that the second controller takes ownership of all volumes and disk groups.

Restart of one of the controllers will also simulate a failover till the controller boots back up.

In the System topic, select Action > Restart System.
The Controller Restart and Shut Down panel opens.

You need to either shut down or restart Storage controller A/B from the options listed.

Refer pages 78 and 79 of SMU guide:
