Completed: a much simpler Servers and Operating Systems section of the Community. We combined many of the older boards, so you won't have to click through so many levels to get at the information you need. Check the consolidated boards here as many sub-forums are now single boards.

Win 2000 Server Time Out

I am running Win2000 Server on a Dell Power Edge 4300 Server. The server is the domain controller, it has active directory and DNS. I have administrative privilege and sometimes I am not able to log on to the domain. Whenever I restart the server EVERYTHING WORKS.

Re: Win 2000 Server Time Out

Are you unable to logon to the domain from the server or from a PC on the LAN? If from a PC, have you tried another PC? Do you see an error message? Have you installed the latest Service Pack, SP3? You can get it at http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/server/evaluation/news/bulletins/sp3.asp
