%NCP-W-INVPVA when starting DECnet Phase IV
I've just installed DECnet Phase IV and ran NETCONFIG.COM. At the end of the procedure, when it starts up the DECnet, I get the following:
%NCP-W-INVPVA, Invalid parameter value , Physical Ethernet address
Line = EIA-0
%NCP-W-INVPVA, Invalid parameter value , Physical Ethernet address
Line = EWA-0
%NCP-W-UNRCMP, Unrecognized component , Circuit
Circuit = EIA-0
%NCP-W-UNRCMP, Unrecognized component , Circuit
Circuit = EWA-0
During the installation I specified this node as a nonrouting node.
Thanks in advance,

Re: %NCP-W-INVPVA when starting DECnet Phase IV
That sounds like another protocol like TCP/IP is already started on that interface which prevents the change of the physical address attempted by DECnet.

Re: %NCP-W-INVPVA when starting DECnet Phase IV
That was it!
I didn't do a reboot, so TCPIP was running before DECnet got started. Doing a reboot fixed it.
Thanks!
