How to clear shared memory

How to clear the shared memory, we have an alarm application and when checked it shows "Max size of aray is full" . Follwing is detail shown below :

Maximum Size of Array 1000
Records on the Array 1000 ARRAY IS FULL
Next Message to be retrieved 15
Next Message will be placed in 15

How it can be cleared and how to prevent it getting full in future?
