Download switch firmware button doesn't work

I have PCM+ 4.00.04.571

When I click preferences --> Global --> Configuration Management --> Download Now button PCM doesn't download the procurve_firmware.prp file. The server has direct connection to the internet through the firewall to rule out proxy issues.

I have run wireshark on the machine and clicked the download now button and can see it doesn't make any attempt to connect to the FTP site to download the file.

I have manually downloaded the procurve_firmware.prp file and placed it in the C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\PCM\server\data\download to manually update it, but when you click the download now button, the file gets renamed and no download happens.

Can anyone advise how to make PCM actually make a connection to the FTP site to download the file?

Can you connect to the ftp site via the browser of the PCM Server?

Did you download the PRP from the ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/networking/software/4_0_firmware_prp/ ?

Did you already try to download the firmware files manually?

But you propably run into the same version conflict situation as I described in my post.
