IDM and VLAN

Hi ,

I'm setting up IDM and reading the documentation I have a doubt regarding the use of VLAN

The goal of this implementation is to assign the port the users connect to to a VLAN .

No problem to this point

Reading the documentation , however , it seems that assigning the user to a VLAN would prevent it to comunicate to other vlan ( through routing )

I should have misunderstand the documentation but just wish a check from some expert
