1797 Drive array - array accelerator data backup previously failed
DL360e gen8, Dynamic smart array B320i RAID controller, ACU diagnostics report indicates 'cache is permanently disabled' error.
Boot-time prompts indicate '1797 Drive array - array accelerator data backup previously failed - array accelerator is disabled'. Kindly any ways to fix this?

Re: 1797 Drive array - array accelerator data backup previously failed
Hello eddUG,
Check the cache disable code on the ADU report, if it shows back up failed or charge failed then it could be smart battery failure.
A healthy cache and battery will look like below on the log
Cache Disable Code 0x0000
Total Cache Memory Size 1 GiB (0x0718)
Battery Count 1 (0x0001)
Battery Status 0x0001
Parity Read Errors 0 (0x0000)
Parity Write Errors 0 (0x0000)
Error Log All Zeroes (160 x [0x00])
Failed Batteries 0 (0x0000)

Re: 1797 Drive array - array accelerator data backup previously failed
I attempted a couple of prospective solutions that including manually re-enabling the write cache and replacing the battery/capacitor. These seem to have cleared the error code both on the ACU report and boot-time prompts.
Problem is now logical drivers can't be seen by the O.S, windows server 2012. O.S fails to load and drives can't be found.
