Move SIM v5.0 database to other SQL server

Hi,

What steps do I need to take to get the HP SIM running fine when moving the SQL 2000 database to another SQL 2000 server ?

Have tried it before, but SIM didn't like it very much, anything I need to keep in mind ?

Re: Move SIM v5.0 database to other SQL server

Don't know if this helps you, but there is a PDF named: "Moving HP SIM 5.0 to a New System", it is here: http://h10018.www1.hp.com/wwsolutions/misc/hpsim-helpfiles/hpsim_5_migratingNewSystem.pdf

There are more docs here:
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/infolibrary.html

Never done it myself, hope it helps.

My VERY rough guess is that you...
Stop the services
Backup everything
Replicate the data
Change the ODBC source
Start the services
