Skeleton App UI Not Appearing

I am trying to deploy the skeleton app from the SDK on the controller (v2.3.5). It compiles and loads without issue. My concern is that the skeleton app has a skeleton-ui folder that I has UI contents. However, I don't see any differences in the  web interface. Why aren't the UI components of the skeleton app showing up?
