Having problem accessing Procurve 2510 using console

i am having problem as per subject with 2 new switches.2510-24 and 2510-48

i am using windows xp, hyper terminal, with usb-to-serial convertor.
Hyper terminal settings as follows:
-VT100
-9600
-no parity bit
-8 data bit
-1 stop bit
-Xon / Xoff control

the hyper terminal is not responding on pressing "enter". upon rebooting the switch, i can see some output, but the hyper terminal becomes not responding shortly after.
i cant even enter a command.

tried the following, still the same results.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=115&prodSeriesId=4063679&prodTypeId=12883&objectID=c02609092

apprepricate any advice on resolving the issue.

i am unable to download the file from the mentioned website. i have used tera term 4.69 instead.

both hyper terminal and tera term are giving the same results. when i attempt to reboot the switch, i get the following output and it just hang there.

Re: Having problem accessing Procurve 2510 using console

yes. both are 2510. the output posted earlier is from one of the switches.

i managed to access the switches via telnet (advice from other threads) by using a dhcp server to allow the switch to have an ip address first.

[cont from earlier reply]
even though i have set the baud rate, accessing through console still does not seems to work.

the configuration of the switch is attached.
