sa1100 cgi help

I have recently set up the sa1100
and have had success moving some of my sites from mac to apache.
I am, however new to this and need help with form mail cgi, I am trying one called Mailform.pl
Can anyone tell me how to telnet in and chmod the file which resides in a virtual host directory, or does someone have a formmail cgi they know works?
