SSD Failed in Nimble HF40
My customer use HF40 for 4-5 years. Now he found that one SSD is failed. He want to change that part. it look like that HPE not sell this SSD part anymore. HPE want to sell MA only. I found some information in the manual that we can change only the failed drive, no need to buy whole array.
I look into the failed drive and found that it is sumsung
SAMSUNG MZ7KM960HMJP-00005 SM863a 960gb SATA 6Gbps 2.5Inch SSD.
Can I purchase this part Sumsung SSD, same size, same part number.,and change it in the existing disk bay then reinsert to the storage? I am not sure if we must install any HPE firmware into new SSD or not.

Re: SSD Failed in Nimble HF40
Hello,
You have to use the same type and size replacement drive as the old drive (SSD dual flash carrier).
A failed drive has a red drive fault LED for that drive (B or A). Do not replace a drive with a dark drive fault LED.
After no more than two minutes, make sure that the drive (B or A) is green.
If the LED does not light, remove and reinsert the drive. If unsuccessful, contact HPE Support.
RMA part can be sent to Customer site once you raise a case with HPE Nimmble Support team. This is recommended.
Buying SSD from outside market is not advisable.
