Hpe nimble first user

Hi,

I’m new to hpe nimble. I have the opportunity to get a decommissioned hpe nimble based on hf40 controller for a few hundred bucks.

Since it is not for amusement or homelab but actual personal charity project I need to plan ahead the costs.

There is no drives. Is there any licensing problem ? In a sense that I need to know if it is a necessity to acquire a license for anything for it ?

Did they fix the controller in times of disk brands I can use in them? There is also a story about encrypted OS need to be installed on 2 main ssd ? Is it like in equallogic where it will be on volume presented on the network ? Maybe any tutorial you might recommend so that I might oversee any problems?

Thanks in advance
