Tony,
If you want to debug when / how this happened, you will need access to vcenter sps.log. Grep for "setStatus" in the files in /storage/log/vmware/vmware-sps to see when this status changed for the VP. Log lines will look similar to:
2017-05-03T20:21:44.039Z [Thread-546152] DEBUG opId= com.vmware.vim.sms.provider.vasa.VasaProviderImpl - [setStatus] For provider https://A.B.C.D:8443/vasa/version.xml, status changed from online -> offline
Once this is narrowed down, we can correlate with Nimble array logs to see what happened.
If you want to get the setup up and running back quickly, "Remove" the VP from vCenter, and re-register it from the Nimble array UI or from vCenter Storage Providers. Let us know how it goes.
