excel will not run
when I try to start excel it only runs for a few seconds and then returns to whatever else I am running even when I have nothing else running. I have removed works suite and office and reinstalled only office but this still doesn't work, help me please i only bought my laptop to do do my accounts whilst working away.

A bit more information required.
OS level, Office version, memory in machine, any other details that might help.
I have never had this problem with any of the Office versions and I go back to the DOS versions of Word and multimate (going to Excel was a blessing over multimate).
Do you have registered versions? Pirated copies may have been changed.

Conrad, Are you are starting excel from the icon on your desktop? Try running from your start button; by selecting:
Start, Programs, Excel (form the list of programs), if that works it is your icon. Then right-click on start, explore, windows, start menu, programs, right-click the excel icon and send it to your desktop. You should be ok then. Let me know...
