Re: ISA SERVER

You need only one license for each physical processor even though the software may count one physical processor as two logical processors.

This paper for SQLServer may help you:

What OS are you running?, You should disable Hiper-Threading if you have problems with additional logical processors.

Re: ISA SERVER

I am to install Windows 2000 Advance Server. The machine will have 4 CPUS with Hiper-Threading, then for Windows 2000 the machine will have 8 CPUs.

Then I can install Isa server standard?

Re: ISA SERVER

You see 8 processors because Windows 2000 Server does not distinguish between physical and logical processors on systems enabled with Hyper-Threading Technology.

ISA Server Standard Edition supports up to four microprocessors the same number supported Windows 2000 Server.

You have Windows 2000 Advanced Server. You can install Enterprise Edition (that is designed to be installed on Windows 2000 Advanced Server -up to eight processors-) or disable Hyper-Threading and install the Standard Edition.

This link can be useful for you:

Microsoft and Intel recomend disable Hyper-Threading on systems with Windows 2000 (all editions)
