Flex-10 Physical Uplink Options
Hi, wondering if someone can confirm this and point me in the right direction (documentation, etc.) It has been very hard to figure out what exactly is supported with 1Gbit SX Fiber or 1Gbit RJ-45 links on the Flex-10. Are these ONLY for cascading Flex-10 modules and between enclosures? Are these also for Physical Uplink to Core switches? If they are for uplink to Core, are you still able to use FlexNIC features and chop up into 4 FlexNICs? We have some customers needing to deploy 1Gbit first, then move to 10Gbit later, etc. Thank you for any help! Shawn

Flex-10 Physical Uplink Options
Shawn, Regarding your questions.. No, the 1Gb ports CAN be used as "Stacking Links" as well as "Uplinks" to core switches. Yes, the Flex-10 features are transparent to what uplinks you have defined, so you can slice the Flex10 NICs regardless of the types of SFPs or XFPs you have installed. Mark-
