iLo unplugged from p-class chassis causes switch to disable itself

We unplugged our iLo cable from the back of the p-class chassis today and the entire chassis switch disabled itself. What gives? Is this expected behavior?

This is not the expected behavior. What type of blade switches are you using?

BL-20's and BL-40's. Brocade (HP branded) switch.
