HP 2710 Wireless Setup Problem
Hi, I am using a Linksys WAG54G modem router for my Wireless Network. The HP is connected to the wireless network using the Wireless Setup Wizard on HP printer. However when I attempt HP software installation for wireless or ethernet set up, the printer is not detected on network and I have to cancel the install. I feel a major underlying problem is that the printer is not actually in the same network as the laptop. I have explicit IP settings for TCP/IP and the HP is getting AutoIP.
Laptop Settings :
IP : 83.216.155.103
Sub Mask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.1.1 (Router)
HP 2710 :
IP : 169.254.60.177
Sub : 255.255.0.0
Gateway : 169.254.60.177
When I ping the HP from laptop I get the following message 'Request timed out'.
At the moment I have conducted a USB install. The problem I have is I cannot do either Wireless or Ethernet install of HP software as printer is not detected on network. Thanks for any help.

Re: HP 2710 Wireless Setup Problem
Do you have any sort of MAC filtering enabled on the router that might be preventing the 2710 from connecting to the network?
Assuming the IP address for the 2710 is for the wireless connection, the IP numbers indicate the 2710 is not connected to any network, as you probably surmised. Can you check both the wireless and ethernet IP addresses on the 2710? Is it possible you assigned a static address to the ethernet connection on the 2710 instead of the wireless connection?
