hp boot up problem

[hp_bootup problem]

I have hp pavilion dv 2000 series laptop with me.

It has boot up problem in it. when i press the power button the led and the dvd rom lights glows but the laptop does not boots up.

I then press the power button to shut off the laptop till and till the lights goes off.

Then if i press the power button the laptops boots up.

Is there any solution for this problem.

I have tried resetting of the ram and the static charge discharge it solve the problem but temporarily,the problems comes again.

if there is any solution for this problem then please let me know
