HP Network Teaming - Failback not working
I have a number of Compaq servers configured with both an NC7131 Gigabit Server Adapter and either a built in 100Mb NIC or a PCI 100Mb NIC. HP Network Teaming (version 7.20.720.86) has been used to configure a Fault Tolerant Team. The 1Gb NIC has been selected as the Initial Primary NIC.
If a failover to the 100Mb card occurs, a failback should occur on reboot, however this is not always happening. A number of times various servers have rebooted and still use the 100Mb NIC, requiring a manual failback by removing the ethernet cable from the 100Mb card. The problem occurs on various servers and all servers are using the same driver versions. All servers are using the same model 1Gb NIC but a variety of 100Mb cards are used for the failover (some servers have a built in NIC and others do not).
I need to ensure that the servers reliably failback to 1Gb on reboot so that normal operation is not impacted. All application servers are configured to reboot daily.
