What do the modules (management module, swtich module, FX-ST or FX-SC Switch module, etc) specifically do for the 3321 hub/switch? What are the better management software that work with this hub/switch?

Management Module - Will allow you to connect via a console cable to check stats/ port configs etc. It will not work with other management software.
FX-ST / FX-SC - Will allow you to uplink to another segment using Fiber (SC Connector) ot (ST Connector) without creating a Repeater Hop.

You are correct, that the FX-ST and FX-SC modules allow for the type of fiber cable connector that is used with the hub. See the information for the 3320 modes at these web addresses.
