NC 6000 Wireless Connection Problems

I cannot get my wireless connection working. I bring up Atheros Client Utility and sometimes it starts others it seems to die. When it does start, If I uncheck the AEGIS protocol in the components box for the W500 card, I can use the client utility to scan the network and enter a profile. Once I enter a profile atheros dies and the icon disapears from the taskbar.

Any Ideas on how to get it working?

I'm running Winows 2000 and installed all of the updates on HP Site for Atheros.
