network connection query
I have a BT Wireless Router/4port Hub.
I have a wireless laptop and wireless printer using the BT equipment and working fine.
I also have a desktop pc with a different older printer connected directly to it using a serial cable, and that pc is connected by rj45 cable to one of 4ports on the BT equipment.
I want to access the older printer from the laptop. Can this be done and if so how do i set it up?

Re: network connection query
Hi
Share the Old Printer on the desktop, then from the laptop open the Desktop IP address :
Start - Run : //a.b.c.d
Enter the Desktop username/password
then you will see the Printer shared, you can right click on it then Connect.
Good Luck !!!

Re: network connection query
Hello,
thanks for your reply
I tried what you suggested but no luck.
I have since changed the cabling configuration to see if I could do it a different way.The wireless laptop and wireless printer are the same but now I have my old printer plugged into a print server and the print server cabled with rj45 cable into one of the ports on thre BT equipment.
The printer works fine from my desktop.
The problem seems to be that whichever cabling configuration, when I check the 'Network Places' on the desktop and the laptop neither one is showing the other or the printer
Any advise please
Regards
