no wireless connectivity

my hp pavilion tx 2000 notebook fail to rcognize a wireless network, when trying to connect it shows windows cannot find any network, even when my desktop is connected to a wireless network. it also gives its connection status as "unknown", dependency service or group failed to start. also i cant get help and support on the system, when i try clicking it, it gives me an error message. pls wat do i do.
