Overhead projector. Help !!!

I'm using Compaq Evo N600c. I've connected it to my overhead projector already, but the screen is blank. When connect with another projector or a monitor of desktop computer, it works. Please tell me what's happening ?

Hi, vietsocolas:

It sounds like you need the video drivers for the specific projector you are using. Did the projector come with a CD? If so, the drivers are on that CD.

If not, go to the projector manufacturer's web site. You can download the drivers from that site. Make sure you download the drivers for YOUR operating system (Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, etc.)

Let me know if this worked for you.

Re: Overhead projector. Help !!!

Most projectors don't need drivers, they just take whatever the VGA port gives them and throw it out on the screen.

Could you please clarify what is blank - is it that the N600c won't drive the projector or that you can't use the N600 screen and the projector simultaneously?

Re: Overhead projector. Help !!!

Thanks very much. But today I've tried again, there is an error message: "A USB device is exceeded the power..." (I don't remember exactly, and I don't understand). That message appears immediately when I connect physical my notebook with my projector. Why it is USB ? In fact, that projector works well with other notebook, and my notebook works well with other projector. May be not compatible ?

Re: Overhead projector. Help !!!

the projector should not have anything to do with usb... odd.

other things to try, boot with the projector connected to the laptop, sometimes the bios looks for conductivity on the VGA circuits before enabling the port.

most laptops have a key combination that enables the external VGA, on Dells it is Fn+F8, IBMs it's Fn+F7, i'm not certain about Compaq, but look for a key with a blue monitor or something about CRT in blue.
There have been Innumerable people who have helped me. Of course, I've managed to piss most of them off.

Re: Overhead projector. Help !!!

When I pluged that projector into my notebook, all of USB connector and a touchpad were "hang up". I don't know why.
