Problem with Infrastructure Mode
Situation: two new Evo D500 each with a 802.11b Multiport wireless card installed and a WL410 Access Point which is not hooked up to a LAN. All components are within a few feet from each other. In Ad hoc mode, the two PCs can communicate with each other. In Infrastructure Mode neither of them can locate the Access Point, it does not appear in the AP Manager. I reckon the Access Point is defective, shouldn't it immediately be visible to the two PCs once it's powered on - without any configuration ?
We tried hooking up one of the Evos to the WL410 through its network card and a cable. Then the Access Point appears in the AP Manager but when we try to change it's propereties, we get the message "device is not an access point".
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
