Problems with encryption on WL100

I'm trying to set up my WL100 with a WEP encryption. It doesn't work. The connection is working fine if I turn of the security on the router and the WL100. The WEP settings on the router are 40bits. This is not a choice on WL100 configuration, so I use 64bits. Can this have something to do with my problem? I have another laptop with a different WL-card. This works fine also with encryption. The router is a DELL TrueMobile 2300. I'm using a five letter vord in Key1 on the router, and using the same in "Passphrase" on the WL100 with Default Tx Key = 1.

OS: Windows 2000 Pro

The WL100 Software:
Product Version: 1.34
Configuration Utility: 4.06.3.0 (Oct 04 2000)
NIC Firmware. Version: 00.06.02.00 ID: S10006C2

Any ideas?

Using passphrases is not interoperable with all WLAN devices. You need to use the 10 digit Hex number instead. 40bit WEP and 64bit WEP mean the same thing. In a 64bit WEP key, 40 bits are shared and 24 bits are per-packet.
