Hi, am currently trying to connect a friends pc to the internet,
PC is a Pavilion 7840, and has been upgraded from win 98 to xp pro.
He has purchased a belkin wireless router and belkin wireless usb adapter, i installed all software ok but when i connect the usb adapter, i get error saying usb drive not recognised.
I have tried a few solutions including, enabling legacy usb in setup, re-installing xp and sp2, deleting usb root and restarting all to no avail.
Any help much appreciated
Cheers

Solution
Shalom gary,
Those usb adapters are quite hit or miss. Better to get a pci based network card for $10 at you local computer store than to mess around further.
You have taken the correct steps, save following installation instructions for the usb adapter itself.
