Wireless 'Disappeared'
Hi newbie here and a not very technical so please be gentle! I've had the BT Hub installed for about 2 mths and since the begining had issues connecting via - wireless dropping out, no connection at all, connects via wireless but not to the internet etc. Ethernet is fine & dandy - slow but thats another thread!
I contacted the BT THD who lauched GTA and did 'something'. It then worked for a bit but dropped out again. Went back to ethernet and when i recently finally got round checking the wireless again i appear to have no driver. Called helpdesk again who advised it's my laptop & they can't help.
I know it's my laptop but 2 yrs connected to VM with a dlink router no issues. tried downloading the nvidia nforce chipset driver (hope thats correct!) and still no joy. the light on the laptop is constantly orange. Now this maybe a laptop problem but all this has happened since the BT 'tinkered'
It maybe something obvious i'm missing and apologies if this has already been asked/answered but help gratefully appreciated. Oh, BTW the laptop is a HP G6032ea

Re: Wireless 'Disappeared'
Hi,
I just bought a Pavillion dv7 from the USA and the wireless was working fine. Used it on the plane on the way home, wireless obviously not on, then when i was home it refused to work, it just said disabled or off! I am also using Vista Home Premium.
I followed another guys instructions to let the battery run down a bit then shut the computer down, remove the battery and the power cord for a bout a minute and while it is in this state hold the power button down for about 30 secs (not sure why just did as i was told). Then put the power cord back in but not the battery and start the machine.
The forum i read said that the wireless should now be fixed, but mine wasnt, so i shut down my machine, put the battery back in and booted again. Upon reboot I was asked to boot normally or in safe mode, so i spontaneously chose safe mode which i dont normally do. As it was in safe mode not all drivers are loaded but the wireless button went blue and indicated it was enabled!! :) even though i couldnt connect. So i rebooted in normal mode and the wireless continued to work and connected :) :).....
so they key i think is booting in safe mode, turning the wireless on, then rebooting normally.
let me know if this helps...
