wireless lan speed
I have a new dv5040us. It has a built in wireless lan card. I was told this can achieve speeds up to 108mbs. My router is that fast, but the card still piddles along at 54.
Is there a setting I need to change to get this up to speed?
Thanks!

Re: wireless lan speed
The DV5040us only has a 54G wireless network card, So will never connect at 108Mbs! If you really need 108Mb then buy a cheap PCMCIA card.
Though I find 54G absoultly fine for even media streaming.

Re: wireless lan speed
You would need a card like the extreme card. If your router is at 108, than just buy a matching G card for your laptop.
example:

I know every major brand name has a 108 card now. D-link, Cisco etc.
You will not ever get the "extreme" G speeds without a card that supports that.
