wireless network help
For some unknown reason i cannot ping myself, i have connected my laptop which i am on now to a wireless router. So it connect to the internet fine. Why cant i ping myself, it just times out.
Also the reason for the ping is because im trying to setup a LAN, with my desktop. The laptop can ping the desktop fine but it cant ping the laptop.
so the laptop is wireless while the desktop is connected via ethernet.

Re: wireless network help
Ping works only in ONE direction
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/noping.html
PS: Steps in above site applies to both wired and wireless networks. Basically, the first step towards resolving this would be to disable the firewall protection temporarily.
