wireless network not connecting

Hello all, I am having trouble connecting to my network. When I am trying to connect I get the error "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh the list of available networks, and try to connect again." I have tried troubleshooting, but still no results. Please help.

Thank you

Re: wireless network not connecting

Hi

It maybe you are far away from the range, so the signal is weak (Signal to Noise is less than 20).

Or you have a security configured on the Wireless Network, but you didn't configure it properly in Windows.

If you open "View Available Wireless Networks" then see if you can get your wireless networn in the list, then before try to connect to it, check the security configuration, and try to get closer to the Wireless Access Point the try to connect.

More information about your setup will be usefull for us to help.

Don;t forget to assign points.

Re: wireless network not connecting

Hello and thanks for the reply. I have tried that and I do see my network along with Security-enabled wirless network. I have been trying for 2 days to get this to work. You know I don't see "manual" or "automatic" after my network name any more. I do however how all the signal strengh bars green, but still the same error message when I try to connect. I hope this clears things up a bit. Once again thatnks.

Re: wireless network not connecting

Ok I just clicked set up a wirelss network for a home or small office. So the "automatic" is back up. I takes about 2 minutes to connect and says waiting on network and then it just goes back to the same screen choose a wireless network.

Re: wireless network not connecting

Hi

Apparently you have been connected before, but the signal strength is not that much, or the signal is fluctuating.

So you didn't get a proper IP address assignment from the DHCP in the Wireless Access Point.

Once this happenes, right click on the wireless connection on the task bar , then select Repair, it will repait the IP address assignment for you again through the DHCP.

Don;t forget to assign points, it the way to say Thanks.

Good Luck!!!

Re: wireless network not connecting

Hello again. I have tried to repair my connection, but still no signal strenght. One thing I have noticed when you hover is the wirless symbol at the bottom right it says "(Peer to Peer connection)"? Is this the problem
