Hi April,
Your computer has a wireless card . What you need is a router. What is you Att internet connection? Cable? phone? DSL?

What do you have? A small DSL (SpeedStream?) modem or a larger 2wire DSL modem with wireless router?

You can just connect a wireless router to your DSL modem. My Linksys router has a cable that connects to the modem, 4 ports for wired connections and wireless.

Once you get the equipment, you then need to configure the network and security.

No need, you may already have one.
