Wireless pack power supply

Is it possible that after 1 year the battery run dead.
The WP is hardly used, but has been idle for some months, can this have an impact, and is there a way to revive?

Jack,
I don't known your device but NiCd and NiMH battery have about 1 year of life: it's a technology limit.
For my customer I change battery every year.
