3com baseline switch 2226plus-fail upgrd firmware
Hello ALL. The problem is this: the 3com baseline switch 2226 Plus after a failed firmware update can not be detected in the network, even utility Discovery, the Power LED flashes green. Is it possible to somehow get it back to life?
The old firmware version 1.0.0.6, tried to upgrade to 1.0.1.0

Re: 3com baseline switch 2226plus-fail upgrd firmware
Hello!
I realize this answer is about 5 years too late, but I had just this happen to me on my 3226 (may apply to 2226?) and managed to solve it. So I'm mainly posting the solution for future reference.
Step 1: Hook up a null modem cable to the console port of the switch using 19200,8,1,N settings
Step 2: Power on the switch and after POST (short delay), Press CTRL-U
Step 3: It should now ask for a password, enter: sosupdate
Step 4: At the menu, set startup file to the previous working file (op1.bix for me)
Step 5: Set the file type to be a runtime file
Step 6: Press Q for quit
The switch should now reboot, self test and then load the previous firmware.
Note: This change will persist even if you remove power to the switch.
Good luck!

Re: 3com baseline switch 2226plus-fail upgrd firmware
I only entered to thank you, your suggestion worked like a charm on a 3com 3226. I wonder, have you managed to re-upgrade after that failed upgrade? I'm also facing the same issue, I've tried to upgrade the software but it encounters an error after passing the test, something which has to do with FS_STORAGE beeing too large...
Kudos!
