4500 switch
i am using 3com switch 4500
I have to servers which working in active passive mode, once one is down the other is active.
How can I configure High availability mode in this switch?
Or how can I manage those 2 servers works with the same IP while I connect the passive one only in case I disconnect the active without have any interuption from the switch avoding me to do it.
Thanks
Daniel

Re: 4500 switch
Hi Daniel.
I'm not sure about your question.
But I think you want to cluster these two servers, and set the switch to handle the virtual IP address of this cluster; am I right?
If this is the way you want to do, and if the cluster supports LACP you just need to create a manual or static LACP group on the switch and set the ports which the cluster is connected.
If I'm wrong, please clarify your questions so I could try to help you further.
Regards.

Re: 4500 switch
Hi again
Ok, so I managed to do Link aggression using 2 ports, with one port on lower rate made it to be as master port while the other one is higher, it works great high availability active / passive mode
My next question is, can I do the same thing on my switch but with active / active mode, like 2 web servers that contains the exact same data and the users one time accessing server 1 and in another time access the second server, is it possible to implement on this switch?
Thanks!
