Hi,
I've been tasked with finding the power usage on our switches. The problem is, when I try the display power command, it returns with nothing
Slot 1:
PowerID State Mode Current(A) Voltage(V) Power(W)
1 Normal AC -- -- --
2 Fault DC -- -- --
Slot 2:
PowerID State Mode Current(A) Voltage(V) Power(W)
1 Normal AC -- -- --
2 Fault DC -- -- --
Although the DC shows a fault, there doesn't seem to be an actual fault.
The switch type is:
HPE 5130 48G PoE+ 4SFP+
The software version is:
System image: flash:/5130ei-cmw710-system-r3506.bin
System image version: 7.1.070, Release 3506
Solved! Go to Solution.

Re: Display power not showing anything
Hello!
Not all PSUs can report voltage and other parameters, that is why 5130's output show blank values - PSU simply does not report those values to the management plane.
'Fault' means that there is no current detected in PSU Slot 2. Reasons - power cable is not plugged or PSU is not placed into the slot.
Hope it helps!

Re: Display power not showing anything
Is there any other way of finding out how many watts this switch is using?

SolutionIf we speak about the power 5130-EI consumes for itself, then no, I am afraid there is no way to check it because this data is not reported by PSU in this model. But since your switch model is PoE-capable, maybe you will be interested in the amount of power the switch supplies to its PoE clients. For that purpose you can use "display poe ..." commands. There are plenty of them, just hit '?' after 'display poe" to explore all possible options. For more details, check this guide - https://internal.support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=a00017791en_us , section 'PoE commands'.
