Re: how to config default for switch 3 com 5500
logon to the switch via the console and delete the configfile from flash. then you'll have a clean switch
do a DIR command to see the filename..
mostly called 3comoscfg.cfg or something.
then use the del /unreserved command to delete the file... reboot switch

Re: how to config default for switch 3 com 5500
You can also connect trough console port. Reboot the switch. Press CTRL+B to enter boot menu, and choose SKIP CURENT CONFIGURATION. Then choose REBOOT.
After that, the switch reboots using a factory standard config. As SYS, config the parameters you want, and SAVE. Reboot the switch.
Press CTRL+B again, and choose again SKIP CURRENT CONFIGURATION. There select NO. Reboot the switch.
Finally the switch reboots using the new config.
THIS IS A WAY TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM WITHOUT HAVING TO ERASE THE 3comosfgc.cfg FILE (i always avoid deleting files... just iun case..)
