Lost Console Access on HP 10508

We have two HP 10508 switches in IRF.

 

Yesterday, I was only able to get console access through one of the many management ports.

 

I was able to input a bunch of configuration.

 

Towards the end, I submitted:

 

user-interface aux 1/0 2/1
idle-timeout 5 0
user-interface vty 0
authentication-mode scheme
user privilege level 3
set authentication password cipher <snip>
idle-timeout 15 0
protocol inbound ssh
user-interface vty 1 15
authentication-mode scheme
user privilege level 3
set authentication password cipher <snip>
idle-timeout 5 0
protocol inbound ssh

 

Things still seemed okay at that point.

 

After that, I entered:

public-key local create rsa

And this is when the console stopped responding.

 

Interestingly, it doesn't seem like the switch is down, because fortunately I was able to get enough configuration on it that I am able to still access it via SSH.

 

Anyone have any idea why I no longer get any response when connecting through serial console?

 

We have ruled out the serial cable, as it still works perfectly fine with our other HP switches.
