problem with configuring ports

my network is domain Windows 2003 and 40 workstations are related to the 3Com Switch 4226t 26x port. on some workstations we appear errors in the Event Viewer that I know that network card can not respond booting windows. I've been looking at forums and found that it takes place and the network card and switch autonegotiation able to fulduplex 100x. I have to set the network card, but i cannot to Switch. i found configuration port option from the console 'duplex': 4 options: dot3mautype100base these two options and two dot3mautype10baset. which of these options autonegotiation? default option is dot3mautype100base.
