VSR1000 - TenGigabit Ethernet interface in VMWare?

Hello,

we are evaluating VSR1004 virtual router in VMWare and we have 2x 10Gbit interfaces on server. In vSwitch we see 10Gbit physical adapter connected, however in Comware of VSR1004 we see only GigabitEthernet interfaces. Even when we used VMXNET3 adapter type interface is still listed as GigabitEthernet. How do we get Ten-GigabitEthernet interfaces inside VSR1004?

Thank you.

Have you found a solution, yet?

@HPE Is this a limitation of VSR1000? Can we get 10GbE interfaces up and running with VSR1000?

Re: VSR1000 - TenGigabit Ethernet interface in VMWare?

Hello, not yet. We found out that when you attach the network card in SR-IOV mode (only Intel is supported) you can see it as TenGigabit interface, however we had some troubles with passing just first ping and then drops the traffic. This happens only in VSR VM so it shouldn't be a hardware issue.

I suspect that drivers for VMXNET3 are not fully functional in VSR VM, because other vendors make the card as 10 Gbit interface when they support VMXNET3. Right now we passed this problem to our local HPE representative, waiting for response.
