Wake on LAN across VLAN

I would like to send Wake on LAN across VLANs.  I have a 4500G PWR as my layer 3 device, attached to 3 other 4500G PWR switches which have 4400 hanging off of them.  I have been doing so research and I found the ip forward-broadcast command which I could not get to work.  Does the ip forward-broadcast need to be applied to all 4500 switches?  What about the 4400 switches, is there something that needs to be enabled on that?
