Disk alignment on EVA arrays

Hi anyone got any experience using disk alignment on EVA luns connected to ESX and Windows servers?

VMFS-partitions are automatically aligned to 64KB if you use the VI/vSphere-client.
VMDK-containers are aligned due to the VMFS blocksize.
Guest-OS partitions are not always aligned - depends on the OS version.

HP claims that alignment is not necessary for EVA virtual disks (there was one exception for VRAID-5 data on older EVA-3000/5000 vdisks).

But it won't hurt if you do it anyway and then the guest is prepared if you migrate to another storage array.
