Drive Hanging

I am encountering new problems with omniback. At time when performing a omnisv stop omniback stops but the inetd deamon stops operating also. Attached are copy of a ps -ef |grep omni after stoping and starting omniback four times. Tumwater is the cell manager server and Shelton is the client. The process hangs on drive 3 on this client causing remainding backup to fail.

Can you stop using this drive for testing purpose and run your schedule as usual.
Like that,we can isolate the problem and indicate exactly from where the problem is.

In your case: if the drive is hanging:
it may be drive problem or connaction problem.
Have you checked the output of the ioscan.

Yes
Drive three has been disable and the problem goes away. In the ioscan the drive have the correct address and omniback see's the path same as ioscan.

So from what you are saying ,i think your problem is from the drive,it should be replaced ,i think

i agree with RNY.
if you moved your backups to another drive and it works, the problem is in the drive.
you have to replace it.
