FC60 - flushing disk array

Just a sanity check this one..

I am about to enable write cache on an FC60 connected to an HPUX11 host in order to improve performance. I'm going to issue:-

amutil -w on

The question I have concerns power downs... Am I correct in assuming the command:-

amutil -l

will flush all unwritten data to LUNS that is present in the cache to make it 'safe' to turn of the host then the FC60... (ie clear the cache and commit everything to disk?)...

Is it wise to place the above command to flush the cache in the init scripts whilst shutting down???

This is a wise thing to do,

However you should make sure this command gets executed * AFTER * unmounting the filesystems on the LUNS in the fc60 (and my personal preference would be to also issue the unix "sync" command before your "amutil")

Thanks for the response. I think I'll put amutil -l in the shutdown scripts.
