HP MSA70 External Storage on Red hat Linux

Hi all I have read that Linux based file systems can become read-only for various reasons.

Is it possible for a failed drive in the array force Linux file system set to Read-only and subsequently course my Oracle file system to be set to RO, therefore the Oracle couldn't’ write anymore to the disk.
